The writings of the apostle John and the prophet Daniel help
us identify the antichrist
The details which describe the first beast of Revelation 13, commonly known as the antichrist, are very much identical to the details surrounding the little horn of Daniel 7. The beast and the little horn come from the same place, rule for the same time period, speak the same words, and do the same things.
The first beast of Revelation chapter 13 and the little horn of Daniel 7 are prophetic symbols of the antichrist.

The beast is a religious power that receives worship, the little horn thinks it has religious authority above God himself.

In the books of Revelation and Daniel God gives us a thorough description of the antichrist of Bible prophecy. It is important to identify the antichrist because from it will come the sign, or "mark", of it's authority. Against this mark, "the mark of the beast", or the mark of the authority of the antichrist, comes one of the Bible's strongest prohibitions.
"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:" Revelation 14:9-10
The antichrist ultimately uses force to try compel everyone to come under its authority rather than God's. The antichrist puts great pressure upon those will not accept his claims to be able to change God's laws.
