Modern Fulfillments of Bible Prophecy
Our Prayer
BibleProphecyTruth was designed to help people from all different backgrounds and denominations understand the major prophecies of the Bible that are so relevant today.

Our prayer is that this website will bring to memory the old Bible truths that have seemingly been forgotten in recent years and spark a revival of holiness among God's people.

Babylon Would Never be Rebuilt
"And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there." Isaiah 13:19-20

Alexander the Great, wanted to rebuild Babylon and move the capital of his kingdom there, he died at a very young age. Learn more from Microsoft Encarta

More recently, Saddam Hussein wanted to rebuild Babylon, he even started the process and built a railway station to the abandoned ruins which lie about 50 miles south of Bagdad. Saddam however was stopped by "Operation Desert Storm" and he recently died in captivity. You can read about the plans Saddam had for rebuilding Babylon in Time Magazine. There Will Not be a Successful One World Government
"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." Genesis 11:4

Not too long after the great Flood, which destroyed most of the earth's inhabitants, man again rebelled against God's authority. Nearly everyone worked together to create a city and government in defiance of God's explicit directions. God however stopped the rebellion before it's successful completion. You can read about the history of the "Tower of Babel" in Genesis chapter 11.

God had told the people to disperse and fill the whole earth and He also told them that He would never again send a flood of water to destroy the earth. The tower they were building showed defiance and distrust. God put and end to this rebellion before it became worse.

"And the LORD said, Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city." Genesis 11:6-8

The Bible's prophecies indicate that people will again attempt to unite the nations and rebel against His authority but the Bible says that these attempts will fail.

"And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." Daniel 2:43

There have been many attempts to unify the nations of Europe, but they have all failed and are still failing.

In 2004 the European Union expanded from 15 members to 25, which required a new constitution.  Before the constitution could come into effect however, it had to be ratified by all 25 EU member states. Nine of them ratified it: Austria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.

However, rejection by even a single remaining country would prevent it from passing.  The "no" vote that derailed the EU constitution happened on May 29th, 2005 in France. The Netherlands also voted "no" on June 1st, 2005 and the United Kingdom announced on June 6th, 2005 that it would not vote on the constitution. For all practical purposes, the EU constitution and its attempt at unity is dead. As of January 1, 2007, the EU has been expanded to 27 nations with the addition of Bulgaria and Romania.
