Scripture: "...and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth." Daniel 2:39

The prophecy didn't end with the Kingdom of the Medes and Persians, but predicted that a third kingdom of brass would eventually take over.

History tells us that this happened when the 'brazen coated' army of Alexander the Great conquered the then known world in only 8 short years. Alexander the Great, of the Grecian kingdom, became the third world ruler.

God's prophecy continued, Greece wasn't to rule forever either.

"And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all [things]: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise." Daniel 2:40

Historians mark 168 B.C. as the starting point of the 'Iron Monarchy of Rome.' At the battle of Pydna, on June 22, the Greeks fell to the Romans who ruled the then known world to about 476 A.D.

Rome was the power that destroyed without mercy. Rome was the kingdom which Satan used to try to destroy Jesus as a baby, it was Roman nails that pierced Jesus' hands and feet, and finally a Roman spear that was thrust into Jesus' side. The Roman empire was home to the coliseum in which many of the followers of Jesus lost their lives.

Note: God predicted the rise and fall of nations and many details surrounding these events more than 1000 years in advance and was accurate every time. This is something that noone else has ever done or could do. Therefore we can trust that what God says is going to happen, happens.

If you or I were to make a prediction such as this, we might say the 4th kingdom will be followed by the 5th etc. etc. but notice how the prophecy changes as we continue studying this most amazing prophecy.
