The New World Order
Promise: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing,
but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7
A one world government has been promoted as the solution to many of today's social and economic problems. Globalism has been promoted in the schools and the news media as the only answer to these challenging issues that seem to be multiplying every day.
Businessmen, politicians and presidents have openly talked about the formation of a one world government, a society of nations, a New World Order. This idea of a New World Order raises many questions.
What would happen to human rights? What about the religious freedoms guaranteed by our constitution? How would the New World Order affect our pocket books, how would it be financed? Who would be the leader of The New World Order? Will a New World Order solve the multitude of problems we face and usher in a millennium of peace and safety? The answers to these questions are the subject of speculation and debate from a wide variety of theorists.
The ramifications of a New World Order upon the followers of Christ however are too important to speculate upon. We need to know the truth.
Does the Bible have anything to say about a New World Order? If there is to be a New World Order, a one world government, or a society of nations, does the Bible indicate who will be it's leader?
To answer these questions we need to go back to a dream that an ancient pagan king had and let the Bible interpret itself.

"And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him." Daniel 2:1 |
An Ancient King's Dream
Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had a startling dream that woke him from his sleep. This dream troubled him so much that he immediately called all of his wise men.
The wise men asked the king to relate the dream to them that they might give him the interpretation.
However, the king had forgotten the dream already and told them that they needed to give him the dream and the interpretation, then he would know the interpretation given was true.
The wise men said that this request was impossible. The king, who for a long time had suspected their fraud, decided that he wasn't going to keep them on the payroll anymore.
The decree to destroy the wise men of Babylon was issued.
Now Daniel, a man of God and a captive in Babylon, was associated with these other 'wise' men and thus was also going to be killed.
