The New World Order - Part 3
Scripture: "Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye [are] gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold [it] together." Isaiah 41:23
When king Nebuchadnezzar heard Daniel begin to relate the dream
which he had forgotten, he began to remember, "Yes that
was the dream Daniel! It is all coming back to me now! "
Now Nebuchadnezzar waited with baited breath for the interpretation knowing that Daniel would be surely able to give it to him.

"Thou, O king, [art] a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou [art] this head of gold." Daniel 2:37-38
The King probably questioned Daniel, "The head of Gold represents me?"
"Yes King Nebuchadnezzar, you and your kingdom, Babylon, is represented by the head of Gold"
Babylon, the great empire that in 605 BC began to reign in golden splendor and was home to two of the seven wonders of the world was symbolized by God as this head of gold.
During the reign of Nebuchadnezzar the empire of Babylon ruled the then known world. Babylon was as wealthy as it was powerfull, gold was everywhere in the city, and as the sun reflected off the rooftops it looked almost as if it was shining like the sun.
The city was thought to be indestructible due to its enormous walls, 20 year food supply, and the fact the Euphrates river ran through the middle of it. However, God predicted that the kingdom of Babylon would not last forever but be replaced by another, inferior, kingdom.
The twin kingdom of Medo-Persia, though as inferior to Babylon as silver is inferior to gold, overthrew Babylon. History tells us this happened in 538 BC.
How was Babylon Conquered?
God named "Cyrus", more than 100 years prior to his birth, and told how he would conquer the kingdom of Babylon.
Cyrus, the nephew of Darius the Mede, had at his command the combined armies of the Medes and Persians.
Babylon seemed invincible but, during a night of heaven daring disregard for God, the Medes and Persians marched onto the dry river bed, under the walls, and through its unlocked gates.
In that very night
Darius became Babylon's new ruler.
The reign of Darius was honored of God. To him was sent the angel Gabriel, "to confirm and to strengthen him." Daniel 11:1. Upon his death, within about two years
of the fall of Babylon, Cyrus succeeded to the throne, and the beginning of his reign marked the completion of the seventy years since the first company of Hebrews had been taken by Nebuchadnezzar from their Judean home to Babylon.
Note: From the book of Revelation one can see that the past will be repeated. The things that happend to literal Israel on a local level will happen to God's people, spiritual Israel, at the end of time on a world wide level.
Symbolic Babylon will seemingly have spiritual Israel captive, and she will think that she is safe, until the symbolic Euphrates river dries up.
We will learn more about this woman named 'Babylon' and her harlot daughters in the up coming pages of this website.
